eBay Kijiji now launched in USA
Kijiji is an online classifieds service run by eBay. The service has been available in the Indian market since quite sometime now and they have now launched it in the US market.
This means that eBay is now in direct competition to the leaders in this market Craigslist. Incidentally, eBay owns 25% of Craigslist!
As per company sources, Kijiji has been actively present in Russia and China along with India till now.
Posting ads on the service is free and Kijiji would be playing no role in completing sales for the participants. This is unlike eBay where the company acts as a broker between the two parties.
Market analysts believe that eBay can gain from this service as they can integrate both Skype and PayPal to make transactions easier for the users of the service.
