TEAC releases a range of portable hard drives
Manufacturers of optical disk drives, USB floppy drives, and duplicators TEAC are getting in the business of selling portable hard drives. They announced their new line consisting of 3.5-inch USB 2.0, USB2.0/Firewire Combo, and 2.5-inch USB 2.0 hard drives. These drives are available in capacities of 40 GB, 80 GB, 120 GB, 160 GB, 200 GB, and 250 GB, which forms a rather interesting range of products for the consumers.
The drives come in a casing of all-aluminum designs maximizing heat dissipation. The drives run cooler and hence have a longer life. The package comes with the drive and relevant software in the form of NTI Backup software version 3.0. Indian users would be rejoiced to hear that the drives would be available in India as well through their dealer Delhi-based Simple Marketing.
Les Luzar, Division Manager, TEAC America had this to say about this launch: “With the recent growth in digital video and still cameras, users require more storage space. External hard drives provide simple installation with one USB cable or Firewire cable. No need to open the computer, format or partition hard drive. External HDDs can be used to move large documents from one computer to another due to their portability. One external drive can be used on multiple PCs.”
