AT&T and NTT DoCoMo to develop 3G network in Hawaii
US based telecom giant AT&T has announced that they would be working with Japan’s NTT DoCoMo Inc. to build a high-speed mobile network throughout Hawaii.
This network would be specifically designed to cater to the Japanese tourists in the region.
NTT DoCoMo is the largest mobile service provider in the Japanese market and they would be providing AT&T technical and financial support.
Their investment in this project would be around $24 million and the two companies would establish a third-generation mobile network based on W-CDMA technology.
DoCoMo is hoping that through this network they would be able to generate more revenues from their Japanese customers who are traveling to USA.
