Bajaj Auto to spend big on their upcoming cargo carrier

Bajaj Auto is second largest two wheeler manufacturer in the Indian market. The company is now working on their first four wheeler product which would be a cargo carrier.

The company has said that they plan to spend close to around 6.5 billion rupees over the next four years on this new vehicle.

Bajaj is expected to place this vehicle in direct competition to Tata Motors Ltd.’s Ace mini truck.

It is expected to be ready for launch by 2009.

Company representative Sanjiv Bajaj said in a statement on their expectations from this product: “We believe the segment has tremendous potential.”

Incidentally, Bajaj just recently revealed that they are also working on a possible small car for the Indian market. However, this one is not for budget customers as they aim to develop the Pulsar on four wheels!
