Taizhou, Zhejiang, China (Bluehost/PRWEB ) July 15, 2007 — The electric vehicle market in India has been booming recently with more than 40 companies selling various kinds of electric bikes ranging from simple electric bicycles to 1000w electric scooters. Although its a fairly new concept to Indian consumers, there has been a huge increase in sales from just a few thousand bikes a month selling last year to more than 15,000pcs a month now. It is expected to grow to over 200,000pcs next year. In sharp contrast, China manufactured over 50 million electric scooters last year and has thousands of factories supplying them.

ZhongTu Vehicles started exporting to India more than two years ago and now has seven big companies from all major cities they are supplying and 5five more are in talks for introducing new models to India. The one big advantage that ZhongTu has over other Chinese suppliers is the knowledge of Indian market and the experience required. They have at least one new model released every week and has customized all their models for the Indian driving conditions.

Ace motors, R.K. Motors, RAMotors, Sinic EBikes are buying almost five to seven containers a month from ZhongTu Vehicles. Ace motors’ E-status model was recently acknowledged as India’s best Ebike in terms of the design and size. Current exports of ZhongTu to India is over 25 containers a month.
