Facebook acquires Mountain View-based Parakey

Online social networking company Facebook has announced that they have made their first acquisition in the form of Parakey.

Parakey is a company started by two engineers who were part of the team which developed the Firefox web browser.

The company has based in Mountain View and has just these two engineers as employees.

The two companies have not disclosed the financial aspect of this acquisition. Blake Ross spoke on this deal announcement: “We are thrilled to join the most innovative technology company in the industry.”

Parakey has been working on developing technologies to bridge the gap between information stored offline and online.
