Microsoft in trouble in Hungary?

Hungary’s state Competition Authority website has stated that they raided the offices of Microsoft Corp.’s local subsidiary in the region.

The raids were conducted as part of their investigations related to a probe into the company’s relationship with large software distributors.

Microsoft has been blamed in the past to have given “loyalty discounts” to distributors to offer nothing else by their products in the market.

The GVH stated in a statement that this kind of behavior violate European Union rules and leads to exclusion of competitive products from the market.

The authorities however clarified that the raids did not mean that the company had broken the law.

Microsoft has said in a statement that they are fully cooperating with the agencies in their investigations.
