Switzerland names Toyota Prius the greenest car in the world
It’s amazing to know that Toyota Prius is now a 10 year old vehicle project. The car has just won another award as Switzerland has now named Prius the world’s greenest car.
Prius received the highest green rating in a draft study evaluating the environmental impact of driving around 6,000 different cars by the government in Switzerland.
The government said that the announcement is likely to encourage other automakers around the world to develop more eco friendly vehicles to compete for this award in the future.
The Swiss government hinted that they might impose an emissions-related tax on cars which fails to perform well on this list.
Adrian Aeschlimann, a spokesman for the Federal Office for the Environment added in a statement: “The goal is to modernize the fleet of cars and to make the use of natural resources as efficient as possible, so that using cars will exert less pressure on the environment.”
Nissan Patrol GR 3.0 was named the worst performer on this list.
