Britain launches a Act on CO2 website showcasing environment friendly cars

The UK Department of Transport has announced the launch of an online destination where they are listing environment friendly cars.

The customers as a result would get to know which cars are more environment friendly compared to others.

The mechanism used to rank the cars has been developed in collaboration with What Car? Magazine.

British Transport Minister Jim Fitzpatrick spoke on this new development: “By choosing the car with the most fuel efficient engine in its class, drivers could reduce their engine CO2 emissions by 24 percent and potentially save a quarter on fuel costs.”

The cars have been divided into several categories which are: Supermini, Small family, Family, Estate, MPV, Compact Executive, Executive, Coupe, Open-top, Hot hatch, Compact 4×4, Large 4×4, Luxury and Performance Car.
