Toyota Yaris might be the base for their Indian small car
Japanese automaker Toyota wants to become a bigger player in the Indian automotive market and they need a small car to achieve that goal.
Market sources have now said that the company might base their compact car for the Indian market on their Yaris platform.
There is also a possibility that they would build this car on a brand new platform specifically for the Indian market conditions.
The company seems to be working on deciding which of the two options would be more feasible.
It is also almost confirmed that their Japanese rivals Honda are going to base their Indian compact car on their Fit/Jazz platform.
Toyota’s Indian unit is expected to reveal more on their plans to launch a small car in the market by the end of the year.
