Bajaj Exceed DTS-Si launch in September

Bajaj Auto has decided that they want to steal away prospective customers from Hero Honda. The company has announced that they would be launching a new bike in September this year.

This new product would be named Exceed and it would be powered with their newly developed Digital Twin Spark – Swirl induction (DTS-Si) technology engines.

The company said that this new engine has been developed by their research and development team.

The Bajaj Exceed 125 cc would be their latest product in the market to challenge 100 cc bikes from Hero Honda.

Bajaj is hoping that by pricing their 125 cc bikes competitively they would manage to entice away customers from buying 100 cc bikes from Hero Honda.

Bajaj added in its statement: “The new vehicle will offer the fuel efficiency of a 100cc engine with much greater torque and performance.”

The company however admitted that this new product might harm the sales of their Platina bike. But added: “We are not making money in the lower 100cc segment, and will be able to concentrate on the high margin high capacity engines where we have a greater market share.”

Bajaj managing director Rajeev Bajaj said: “We are exiting the 100cc products and not the 100cc buyer who will get a much better product in 125cc segment at a marginally higher price.”
