Update on Apple iPhone launch in Europe
Financial Times has reported in a news item that Apple is demanding a 10-percent share of revenue from the mobile service providers which are rumored to be selected for selling their iPhone in the European market.
Apple is said to have entered a deal with three mobile service providers in Europe for the iPhone: T-Mobile, Orange and O2.
If Apple manages to get their demands met, it would bring in a new era in relations between mobile telephone makers and operators.
Mobile service providers have never offered a cut of their subscription fees to manufacturers.
The report further reported that the mobile service providers have accepted Apple’s demand hoping that the iPhone would boost their subscriber base and revenues.
None of the involved parties in this rumored deal have commented on this latest report on the iPhone launch in Europe.
