Microsoft test search site Tafiti uses Silverlight technology
Software giant Microsoft has launched a new test search engine named Tafiti. The word ‘Tafiti’ means “do research” in Swahili.
The company said that this test search sight is based on their Live Search technology and the user interface is powered with Silverlight technology.
Microsoft Silverlight is a new technology being developed by Microsoft to challenge the domination of Adobe Flash on the web.
They are developing this new test engine in partnership with Seattle-based design firm Jackson Fish Market.
The aim is to showcase the power of Silverlight though Microsoft has not clarified if they are going to use the site in a commercial way.
Microsoft Tafiti is accessible on Windows Vista, XP SP2 and Mac OS X through Internet Explorer and Firefox.
