Skype offering a week of free service for paying customers
Skype is one of the most popular VoIP service available worldwide. The company recently suffered a two-day outage which resulted in lot of bad PR.
The eBay owned company has now announced that they are offering a week of free service to paying customers.
Skype spokeswoman Imogen Bailey said in a statement on this announcement: “As a goodwill gesture to all you faithful Skype Pro, Skype Unlimited, SkypeIn or Skype Voicemail customers, we’re adding an additional seven days to your current subscription free of charge. And even if you didn’t miss out on using Skype last week, you can still have a week free on Skype, on the house.”
It is still to be seen if this downtime is going to hurt the company financially. Some of their customers have said that they always have a backup in place as they expect the technology to have some drawbacks.
