Ratan Tata confirms they are interested in Land Rover and Jaguar

Tata Sons Chairman Ratan Tata has confirmed in a statement that the company is indeed interested in acquiring Land Rover and Jaguar from Ford.

He was quoted as saying to media personals: “…we are certainly having an interest in it (Jaguar and Land Rover).”

He did not however give more details on their plans for this acquisition. He just said: “I don’t think it will be fair to comment on it.”

He added that they are not bidding for the two companies for the sole purpose of making their presence felt worldwide.

Instead the company aims to give themselves a global presence. Tata added about their upcoming Rs. 1 lakh car that it should be out by the middle of next year or in the third quarter.
