Matsushita to pay for the Nokia mobile phone battery recall
Matsushita and Nokia have together stated that Matsushita would be paying for the recently announced Nokia mobile phone battery recall.
The batteries were manufactured by Matsushita and are used in some of the most popular Nokia mobile phones.
Masatsugu Kondo, president of Matsushita Battery said in a statement: “Nokia and Matsushita have a long business relationship and the two companies are cooperating closely together in this situation.”
He added: “Matsushita Battery has agreed to cover the direct costs associated with the product advisory, including, among other things, logistics costs, call center costs, and replacement battery costs.”
The recall is likely to cost them 10 billion to 20 billion yen.
