Google launches Indian specific services
Search engine giant Google has launched a bunch of services aimed at the Indian web user. This includes the launch of Google Local Search and Google Local Business Center
The company also announced the establishment of an innovation platform for India named Google India Labs.
Google’s Local Search for India would enable the web users here to search for locally relevant information on the Web.
They would be able to locate information regarding local restaurants, shops, malls, hotels, other businesses.
Google Local Business Center Indian edition has been put in place to enable the local businesses to add their information to Google Local for free.

The company also introduced the Indic On-Screen Keyboard iGoogle Gadget which now allows the user to type search queries in 14 Indic languages.
Google also introduced the Google Indic Transliteration which allows the web users to type in Hindi by using phonetically equivalent English text entered through an English keyboard.
