Yahoo Mail set to come out of beta

Yahoo has been working on their overhauled interface on the Yahoo Mail service since quite sometime now.

The updated interface was available to users who opted for it and the service has been in beta since then.

The company is all set to remove the beta label from this updated service and it is now going to be rolled out to all the users of Yahoo Mail.

Yahoo said that the final version of the mail service would be unveiled sometime today.

They have also announced some more enhancements that would be added to the service. Users would be able to send text messages directly to cell phones of their friends and relatives from the webmail service itself.

Yahoo added that the service would be faster than ever before (compared to the beta version).

Users would also be able to communicate with Microsoft Windows Live Messenger users through the instant messaging feature available in this service.

They are also going to add the Shortcuts feature in the updated interface which is currently the part of the classic edition.

John Kremer, Yahoo Mail’s vice president added that the users would not be forced to upgrade to this interface if they are happy with the existing version. He said: “We’ll continue to offer both products for the foreseeable future and we’ll let our users decide what’s the right Yahoo Mail experience for them.”
