CNN to use Google online advertising services
Google has now replaced Yahoo to provide pay-per-click text ads on CNN.com. This is a huge victory for Google as CNN is one of the most popular online destination for news online.
Google is replacing Yahoo as the exclusive provider of these advertisements. Yahoo has been providing this service since 2004.
Interestingly, at that time Yahoo had replaced Google for this service.
CNN is of course already using Google’s search services on their website.
Google spokesman Brandon McCormick had this to say on this deal with CNN: “This is an important deal for Google because CNN.com has a lot of traffic and high-quality content. The agreement provides an opportunity for our advertisers to target CNN.com and get high-quality traffic for their ads.”
