Toshiba launches Gigabeat T401S and Gigabeat T401 media players

Japanese consumer electronics maker Toshiba has announced an updated range of Gigabeat digital media players.

One of these new models come with support for Wi-Fi support. The newly launched Gigabeat T-series are compact media players and comes with a 2.4-inch LCD (liquid crystal display) screen that offers QVGA (320 pixels by 240 pixels).

This new player supports a variety of media formats including Windows Media Audio, WMA 9 Lossless, MP3 and WAV audio files. It can also display JPEG photos. Video support is missing however.

There are two models available with one of them supporting Wi-Fi. The Toshiba Gigabeat T401 includes 802.11b/g Wi-Fi connectivity. The Toshiba Gigabeat T401S lacks the Wi-Fi support.

These players would be made available for sale in the Japanese market this coming September 7.
