Google now hosting news articles on its own server
Search engine giant Google runs the Google News service which syndicate news items from thousand of news sources on the web.
The company has however now started hosting material produced by The Associated Press on its own site.
They are also hosting content from three other news media companies on their own servers. This include content from Agence France-Presse, The Press Association in the United Kingdom and The Canadian Press.
This could be bad news for the third party news sites which rely a lot on Google News for their traffic. But the search engine company stated that they are not going to give their own news stories any special preference.
Google added that they currently have no plans to run ads on these new pages being hosted on their own servers. This could change however in the future.
MSN, Yahoo and AOL are some other major news syndication services which also host stories from these major media companies on their own sites.
