Hitachi to launch BD70E and BD7HE video Blu-Ray supporting camcorders in Europe

Japanese consumer electronics giant Hitachi has said in a statement that they are planning to launch their digital video camcorder based on Blu-ray Disc in Europe next month.

These cameras have been launched in the Japanese market and uses Blu-Ray media as the storage format.

These are expected to be launched in the US market sometime this month itself.

They have launched two models. The BD70E comes with a 8 centimeter Blu-ray Disc burner on which the data is stored.

The other model is the BD7HE which comes with both the disc burner and a 30 GB hard disk drive.

Roland Fritsch, European product manager at the Hitachi Digital Media Group said in a statement: “Everyone says we need more Blu-ray Disc content and keep talking about Hollywood. Yes, we need Hollywood titles, but now, with our new camcorders, everyone can create Blu-ray Disc content.”
