Internet coming to the rescue of Tsunami victims

The latest and perhaps one of the biggest of its kind in quite sometime havoc caused by the Boxing Day tsunami waves is becoming a prime example on how Internet can contribute in helping people with technology. Online transactions are helping gathering the funds in fast and safe way from far off places. Disasters Emergency Committee is an umbrella organization setup by a coalition of 12 charities and is involved in collecting charities online. Reports say that they have collected around ₤8,000,000 with average donations of more than 10,000 per hour.
