Sony could launch video download service
Looks like Sony is not going to learn from its mistakes. The company just recently closed down their struggling Connect digital music store.
And they are now considering establishing their own movie download service and products.
Sony spokesman Shigenori Yoshida was quoted as saying: “Music and video downloading has been available through networks, and we are looking into the area as a possible business.”
The company has failed to challenge the dominating iPod range of digital media players in the markets around the world.
However, they just recently launched some Walkman models which are capable of playing videos.
These new generation of Walkman players support more formats and are compatible with Windows Media Player 11 technology.
