Mid 2008 expected launch time for Tata Rs 1 lakh car

Tata continues to make progress on their Rs. 1 lakh car and it is expected to be launched in the Indian market sometime during the mid of next year.

This new product from Tata Motors would become the cheapest car in the world and would compete with Maruti 800 in the Indian market.

Ravi Kant, managing director, Tata Motors said in a statement that the construction of the plant for making the car is in progress.

The company is somewhat running behind schedule on this car as they faced political problems over land acquisition at Singur.

Tata has said that they are doing everything to make sure that the product is launched as per the schedule.
