Volkswagen Passat diesel in India starting at Rs 22.35 lakh

German automaker Volkswagen has finally launched their Passat luxury car in the Indian market.

The company has launched two variants of this car. These are priced at Rs 22.35 lakh and Rs 24.35 lakh (ex showroom Delhi) respectively.

Both of these variants are powered with the four cylinder TDi 2.0 liter Highline engines.

VW India representative Joerg Muller had this to say on the launch: “We are excited to be in India and we are sure that Passat will set the pace for our future product launches in India. This launch should affirm our commitment to provide the latest technology and high value to the discerning Indian customer.”

This happens to be the first official launch product from the company in India. They are however already selling Phaeton and Touareg through direct imports. Passat is being assembled at Skoda Auto’s assembly plant in Aurangabad for the time being.
