LG launches BH200 hybrid player

South Korean consumer electronics maker LG has launched their latest high-definition DVD player.

This player supports both HD DVD and Blu-Ray formats. It would be sold for around USD 1000. This makes it quite expensive compared to regular players which support one of these two formats.

This new model is somewhat cheaper than their earlier player which also supported both the formats.

Samsung is also working on plans to launch a hybrid player before the start of the upcoming holiday season.

LG said in a statement that this player supports advanced BD-Java and HDi technology which was missing in the earlier generation product.
