HTC begins testing of Qualcomm’s SnapDragon chips

Taiwan based HTC has revealed that they have already began testing of the new processors named SnapDragon from Qualcomm.

These new chips have been designed to provide an alternative to the processors made by Intel for mobile devices.

Qualcomm has confirmed that they have began sending out SnapDragon chip packages to developers.

Paul Jacobs, CEO of Qualcomm said in a statement that the ultra-low power consumption of the Scorpion processor contained in the package can result in some new generation of products.

The package also comes with support for mobile broadband technologies including CDMA2000 (Code Division Multiple Access 2000), 1xEVDO (Evolution-Data Only), HSDPA/HSUPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access/High Speed Uplink Packet Access) as well as mobile TV, Bluetooth, GPS (Global Positioning System), and WLAN (wireless-LAN).
