Pioneer’s iPod Adaptor for Car Stereos

iPod is going places! The latest news in is that Pioneer Electronics have introduced a music player device specially designed with iPod in mind. It is an iPod car stereo adapter and has been named Pioneer CD-IB 100. It works with Pioneer car stereo systems, which are IP-Bus compatible. All the recently launched music systems for cars launched by the company would work with this cool add-on.

Compatible car stereos can now be connected to the iPods using this adaptor. Stereos could display up to eight characters of text including album, artist, and song names. Additional text is programmed to scroll on the screen. An interesting feature with this add-on is that it would be charging the iPod when connected to it!

Pioneer would soon be launching a new series of car stereos, which would feature additional features like multi-line display and list search. Michael Townsen, director of marketing for mobile entertainment at Pioneer Electronics told the media in a statement: “Portable digital music players like the iPod are no longer a passing trend, but are part of the digital lifestyle. Consumers love their iPod music and they want to take it with them everywhere, including the car”.

For users with other brand car stereo systems, there is a way out. Another company AudioVox launched an iPod connector named iPod Mobile Interface Kit. It let iPod users to connect it to any car stereo, which has a CD changer port.
