Vodafone MusicStation service to be launched in Britain
World’s leading mobile service provider Vodafone has announced that they would soon be launching an unlimited and exclusive music service in Britain as they prepare to take on the Apple iPhone.
This launch is also important considering Apple recently announced that iPhone would soon be able to purchase and download songs from the Apple iTunes using Wi-Fi internet connection.
Vodafone announced that they have signed on an exclusive deal with British music firm Omnifone. This deal would enable them to offer unlimited number of tracks to their customers for a weekly fee of 1.99 pounds.
This would give their customers access to more than a million tracks from all the major music labels. Even better is the fact that the users would be able to download the songs wirelessly.
This service would be made available to their existing 2.5G and 3G mobiles and the upcoming mobile devices being planned by Vodafone.
Tim Yates, chief marketing officer of Vodafone UK added in a statement: “Today’s announcement is a first for music on the mobile in the UK and means a fundamental change to the way people experience music on their phones.”
