Yahoo to provide ads on Bebo UK, Ireland
Yahoo has announced that they have won the exclusive right to provide advertising on the social networking Web site Bebo in Britain and Ireland.
This would give them access to more than 11 million users accessing these sites in the two countries.
The deal signed on between the two companies would see Yahoo providing majority of the display and video advertising on Bebo.
Bebo is one of the leading social networking service in these two countries and this is a major victory for Yahoo as they are trying to challenge Google in this space.
Toby Coppel, managing director of Yahoo Europe said in a statement on this deal: “We think this is a groundbreaking move in the online advertising industry in the UK and Ireland. It’s a core step for us in building up the largest and most effective advertising network. It’s a big deal.”
