Dell to offer Veso server with VMware’s ESX Server 3i hypervisor
Dell has announced their plans to become the first PC manufacturer to offer a server with VMware’s ESX Server 3i hypervisor for Virtualization which would be embedded in the hardware itself.
They expect to launch this new server product by the end of November this year. The codename for this new range of product is Veso.
The company said that this new range of products would be optimized for Virtualization and it would feature twice the memory of the company’s regular two-socket systems.
It would be powered with two AMD Barcelona quad-core Opteron processors. These processors were launched earlier this week.
VMware’s 3i hypervisor was also introduced this Monday itself and it is also likely be featured on upcoming products from Fujitsu, Fujitsu Siemens, HP, IBM, NEC, and others.
