SpiralFrog.com to offer free music downloads

SpiralFrog.com has announced that they would now become the latest online destination to offer free music downloads.

The service would be advertising supported and users would be able to download music and videos free of charge.

It is scheduled to be launched today after months of beta testing. They would be paying a part of the revenues generated from online advertising to the record companies providing the media.

Joe Mohen, chairman and founder of the service said in a statement: “We believe it will be a very powerful alternative to the pirate sites. With SpiralFrog you know what you’re getting … there’s no threat of viruses, adware or spyware.”

Users would be required to log in to the service at least once a month to keep the content active. This is mandatory to ensure that the music is not just downloaded and released to the public in general.

They are making available more than 800,000 tracks and 3,500 music videos for download. Most of this content has been provided by Universal Music Group.
