Nokia acquiring mobile advertising company Enpocket
World’s largest mobile phone maker Nokia is now trying to enter the market of mobile advertising.
The company has announced their plans to acquire the privately held U.S. mobile advertising firm Enpocket.
The two companies have not however disclosed any financial aspects of this deal. Enpocket has around 120 people working for them.
Mike Baker, Enpocket’s president said in a statement on this deal with Nokia: “Effective interactive advertising on the mobile device can create tremendous value for the mobile industry while bringing new Internet services to people around the world.”
This is interesting news considering mobile phone makers have traditionally collaborated with companies like Google and Yahoo to enable mobile advertisement powered services.
