Google Gadgets to get advertisements

Google has hinted that they would soon deliver advertisements through their Google Gadgets apps.

The company is scheduled to come out with more details sometime today. It would be their first attempt to gain revenues from these mini applications.

They are already providing more than 14,000 widgets which can be installed by the user on their personal web pages or desktop using Google Desktop.

Google is likely to show advertisements through the widgets if they appeal to the visitor on the page displaying them.

This is similar to how their AdSense for web pages work.

Christian Oestlien, a business product manager for Google said in a statement on these plans: “We view this as a way to create an environment where the Internet is being supplied by truly useful advertising.”
