MySpace mobile to be supported with advertising

Fox Interactive Media has said in a statement that they are working on launching a mobile version of their MySpace.com social networking service.

This service would be made available for free and would be supported by mobile advertisements.

The MySpace Mobile would allow members to send and receive messages, comment on pictures, post bulletins, update blogs, find friends and update their mood status on cell phones.

They are also working on launching mobile versions of their other web properties including FoxSports.com, IGN.com and Rotten Tomatoes.

Fox Interactive Senior Vice President John Smelzer added in a statement: “We believe ultimately that people will access the Internet on mobile phones. We want to support that behavior as best we can. The more we can replicate what’s going on online the better.”
