Wall Street Journal: Microsoft wants a piece of Facebook!
Facebook is one of the fastest growing social networking services out there and it looks like bigger companies in the market wants to buy a piece of it.
Yahoo is already rumored to have tried acquiring it but apparently the developers behind the project are not interested in selling it. Yet.
The Wall Street Journal has now reported that Microsoft has proposed an investment in the company that would give them a small stake in the company.
This stake could be worth between $300 million and $500 million. WSJ believes that this would put the value of Facebook at around USD 10 billion!
The report further stated that Google is also interested in a potential stake in the company and the two companies are battling it out to become a share holder.
The money could of course come handy for Facebook to expand their presence in the market and potentially acquire other companies whose technology could be use to better the service for the end user.
