Apple warns that unlocking iPhone could damage iPhone
Apple has finally released a statement on the phenomenon of unlocking an iPhone to enable it to work on networks other than AT&T.
The company said in a statement that the various methods available online to unlock the iPhone could in fact cause irreparable damage to the device.
Apple specifically stated in its statement that the unlocking methods “will likely result in the modified iPhone becoming permanently inoperable.”
Apple further warns the owners of iPhones that unlocked iPhones would not be covered under the warranty as malfunctions could be caused by the unlocking method itself.
Apple is also scheduled to release newer updates for the iPhone which the experts believe could try to undo the changes from the unlocking applications.
