Amazon MP3 digital media store launched

Online retailing giant Amazon has finally launched their digital music store as they aim to take on the dominating player in this market Apple iTunes.

Amazon MP3 store has been launched with more than 2 million tracks available for download and all of them are DRM free!

Customers would be able to purchase sound tracks and albums from this store using the same popular Amazon’s 1-Click button.

The music is DRM free and hence can be copied on to multiple devices, CDs and would even play on Apple iPods.

The songs are priced between 89 cents to 99 cents each. The albums are priced between $5.99 to $9.99.

This could really be the first major competition to Apple iTunes whose rivals are running out of ideas and closing down.

Virgin Digital just became the latest media store to announce its close down.

It would be “competition” if Apple could get the same terms as Amazon. It’s collusion that the major labels are offering A to X, but offering B to Y, as a group.
