Google acquires mobile social networking company Zingku
Search engine giant Google has announced the acquisition of mobile social networking company Zingku.
This looks like an acquisition made by the company to further enhance their mobile offerings which is expected to become the next big market to generate revenues.
Zingku provides services aimed at teenagers and young adults. Google said in a statement that they have acquired “certain assets and technology” of Zingku and it is expected to help their users, advertisers and publishers.
Zingku too has notified its users about this deal and they have been given sometime to decide (to stay or leave) before their accounts are moved on to Google servers.
Zingku states on their website about their services and technologies: “With Zingku, things you wish to promote or share, can easily be created and fetched via mobile, instant messenger and Web browsers. Our service integrates your mobile phone with a personalized Web site so that you can easily move (zing) things back and forth between the Web and your mobile, as well as powerfully connect with friends and, optionally, their friends.”
