Caparo Group working on its own small car project
UK-based Caparo Group has revealed that they are working on a small car project which they would be selling in other countries around the world.
India is going to be one of the targeted markets and they are expecting to bring it to the market in the next 2 years.
Tata Motors is another company which is currently scheduled to launch their Rs. 1 lakh car in the market by next year.
Caparo Group Founder and Chairman Lord Swaraj Paul said in a statement on their project: “We are working on a two-year project for designing a city car which will be made up of composite material and more efficient.”
He added that Caparo would only design the car but would not be producing it. They are planning to franchise the manufacturing to other companies. He added: “The majority of the designing work for the proposed ‘city car’ is going on at our Chennai facility.”
