AMD 3D Graphics Technology licensed by Qualcomm
Mobile chip maker Qualcomm has announced that they are now licensing AMD 3D Graphics Technology for integration with their own wireless chip sets.
This means that AMD’s graphics technology Unified Shader Architecture would soon be available on the mobile platform.
This technology can already be seen on the Microsoft Xbox 360 gaming system.
Qualcomm is likely to use this technology on their Mobile Station Modem chipsets.
Freescale Semiconductor also recently announced that they were licensing AMD’s graphics technology for mobile applications. Another company working with AMD on a similar collaborating is STMicroelectronics.
