Microsoft Zune

Microsoft has announced the appointment of Rick Thompson as the new head of their Zune digital media player division.

He has been appointed the corporate vice president of Zune. He would be taking over these responsibilities from J Allard.

He would now be responsible for bringing more media companies to provide content for this player in addition to develop newer models to compete effectively against Apple iPod.

Microsoft just recently updated their Zune media player line up and launched a couple of new players.

They also expanded the media support which is an exciting news for the existing customers. In addition, the Zune would also now support wireless sync with PCs.

These new Zunes are expected to be available in the retail market starting next month.
