Facebook might be considering launch an iTunes rival service

Facebook might be one of the fastest growing social network services on the internet but they are still on shaky grounds.

Except for advertising, they have few revenue sources and their contract on this with Microsoft runs out in 2011.

They are also not considering sale to a bigger company in the near future so this means that they need to find a reliable source of revenue generation.

One of the rumors in the market suggest that they are considering launching a new service which would provide an online platform for musicians and bands.

This means that they can also launch a media store online to sell their music and other stuff.

This would put Facebook in direct competition with Apple iTunes and a service launched by Amazon.com. MySpace.com is also in the market with their online platform for music composers.

But the more players entering this segment would mean that the end customer would have more options!
