Google finds a way to monetize YouTube videos
Google has said that they would now allow publishing partners to put YouTube videos on their site which would contain advertisements. The two parties would then share the revenues.
These new video units would allow publishers enrolled in Google advertisement service to put videos related to their content on their websites.
Ads would be featured as overlay text and it would fade in and out as the video plays. This is just the latest mechanism through which Google aims to monetize their recently acquired YouTube video sharing service.
A Google representative added: “Nowadays, website publishers realize that getting people to visit your website is only half of the equation. Growing your audience is important, but keeping your audience engaged and staying on your site longer is just as important, if not more so.”
