Google acquires Jaiku mobile content sharing service
Search engine giant Google continues to acquire companies which further enhances the possibilities of a rumored gPhone.
Google has now acquired Jaiku which enable mobile users to share updates on what they are doing.
The service is basically a social networking platform which also features mini-messaging service.
It would founded by Jyri Engestrom and Petteri Koponen last year. One of the possible rivals to this service is Twitter.
A Google representative said in a statement on this acquisition: “Technology has made staying in touch with your friends and family both easier and harder. Living a fast-paced, on-the-go lifestyle is easier (and a lot of fun), but it’s more difficult to keep track of everyone when they’re running around at warp speed. That’s why we’re excited to announce that we’ve acquired Jaiku.”
