IBM to help open up virtual worlds in partnership with Linden Lab
US based tech company IBM has announced that they are collaborating with the creators of Second Life service Linden Lab to open up virtual worlds.
They are aiming to allow web users to move their virtual identities from one virtual world to another.
Currently, the online avatars of the web users are stuck inside the service they are created in.
Linden Lab said in a statement that this limitation of the virtual world technology is hindering the growth of this industry.
A company spokesperson said in a statement: “It’s an idea that you would only need one avatar to go into multiple virtual worlds. Linden Lab and IBM are working on a way to make that happen.”
