Samsung develops a movement sensitive mobile phone
Mobile companies are developing new ways to entice users into buying their products. However, mobiles have evolved a little in the last couple of years. They now feature cameras, which can take photos and record videos. Some even come with PDA capabilities. Others let you listen to music through FM Radio or Digital Music Storage.
Where they have failed to develop is the User Interface. Most of them come with complicated interfaces, which one has to get used to. For example writing emails is still a tedious process on mobile gadgets. Few companies have experimented with ways to get more out of mobiles through other means.
Samsung has taken some steps in this direction. Their efforts with a newly launched mobile phone (SCH-S310) come with a 3D movement recognition technology. It features something Samsung calls ‘accelerometer’, which monitors and calculate movements of the mobile phone in real time and carry out commands on the device.
Users can program such movements to accept or reject calls. The mobile is smart enough to make out the difference between an accidental movement and a user initiated command. Samsung claims that the mobile phone is sophisticated enough to identify general position and direction to include precise recognition of small and rapid movements.
This technology has been jointly developed by Samsung the company and the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology and has resulted in application for around 22 patents. The company stated in a press release: “Mobile phone input devices to date include the keypad, touch screen and voice recognition. In the future, however, 3D movement recognition technology will become an important user interface and revolutionize mobile phone designs and features. This technology will do away with the need for complex keypads on mobile phones, MP3 players, digital cameras and other handheld products. This will particularly affect the way games are played on a mobile phone. Many functions will be controlled by movement instead of buttons.”

i am sikandar razzak from karachi pakistan i’ve seen so many advertisment as like above regarding to selling mobile phone. I will like to have the contact of your service center in either Port Harcourt or Lagos in Nigeria.
I bought 40″ LCD TV series 4 by March from Port Harcourt representative. A month later I had a power problem that damaged the system including the Powermatic that I bought alongside with the LCD. I called the Port Harcourt office only to be given a phone number. I called the person who came and took the power unit away, that it was damaged. I want to be sure that I am dealing with your correct service agent or center.
