Motorola, Sony Ericsson collaborating on UI Holdings
Motorola has acquired a stake in the UI Holdings which owns the Symbian user interface developer UIQ Technology AB.
They are now sharing the ownership of the company along with Sony Ericsson which is a rival mobile phone maker.
The two companies faces intense competition from Nokia and Apple iPhone in both US and European markets.
Both the companies would gain from the products from this company which specializes in developing user interfaces for mobile devices.
Sony Ericsson and Motorola are also now inviting other handset makers to invest in the company or license their technologies.
