Dennis Tito, Mark Shuttleworth, Gregory Olsen, Anousheh Ansari and Charles Simonyi are some of the names that comes to mind when we talk about Space Tourism.

Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic is one such company which aims to provide chance to people to visit space as a tourist.

The trip is expensive and would cost around Rs 80 lakh for an interested customer in India.

But Virgin Galactic believes that they can find such people in India and are planning to open an office in the country.

They are collaborating for their Indian project with Deluxe Travel and GD Goenka World Travel.

The first office would open up in Delhi and Deluxe Travel Europe would become the exclusive ‘Virgin Galactic Accredited Space Agent’ for the Indian market.

Sunit Jairath, MD, Deluxe Travel Europe spoke on this venture: “We got accreditation three months ago. India offers a lot of opportunity to us. And we hope that once we’ve our India base, we’ll see more space passengers from the country”
